Consultant Radiologists
Consultants reporting for Expert Eye are carefully selected, fully qualified, practicing radiologists. Expert eye recognises the increasing complexity and diversity of modern radiology, and our radiology support services are tailored to these diverse needs.
RADIOLOGICAL EXPERIENCE
- UK trained: All radiologists have undertaken at least five years training in an approved UK radiology training scheme. Most have also undertaken further training, and actively teach in their radiological subspecialty.
- Practicing hospital radiologists: Our consultants practice in NHS hospitals, mainly in regional teaching hospitals, and are therefore fully conversant with the needs of clinicians within the NHS framework.
- Experts in their field: Consultants are selected from the best within their specialist fields. They are fully conversant in the terminology appropriate to that specialty, and are sensitive to the needs of each clinical group.
- Subspecialty-interest: Where subspeciality groups exist (e.g. neuroradiology), radiologists are members of the subspecialty society, and play an active role in teaching and research.
- Reporting restricted to areas of clinical experience: Consultants are committed to providing reporting of the highest quality, and do not report examinations outside their areas of expertise. Imaging from specific medical or surgical subspecialties is directed to an appropriately experienced radiologist.
- Communication: We are aware of the importance of communication in providing a high quality service. Therefore we also offer a communication link (usually telephone) with the relevant radiological specialist team for discussion of difficult clinical cases.
